Many people go through times in their life when they feel sad or depressed. It seems to be a normal part of life. When we lose a job, a loved one dies, or we end a relationship, we experience the emotional toll of letting go, the fear of what happens next, and all of the other potential thoughts that these events bring forth. However, for some people they cannot shake the depression. They get “stuck” in their despair and sadness. This may even cause some people who suffer from depression to have suicidal thoughts.
People who are suffering from depression, deep sadness, or who have just lost the pleasure of living for two or more weeks should seek help. Some of the symptoms of depression are: a lack of interest in normal daily activities including sex, inability to focus or poor memory, insomnia or sleeping too much, feelings of being hopeless and helpless, lack of energy, slowness in speech or movements, changes in appetite that may include either a weight gain or a weight loss, isolation from family and friends, drug or alcohol problems, problems at work or school, and suicidal thoughts. Not everyone who suffers from depression will have all of these symptoms. Depression is different for each person as we are all unique. Some people will often have a worsening of their co existing conditions such as anxiety, irritability, or a worsening in their pain from headaches to stomachaches.
Major depression can be so severe that it interrupts a person’s daily functioning. A person who is experiencing a major depression may not be able to sleep, work, eat, or interact with others. Quite often someone who has experienced major depression can do so multiple times in their life. There is also something called persistent depressive disorder. This is when a person experiences a depressed mood for more than 2 years. The persistent depressive disorder may include some times of major depression with not as bad depression, but the overall length is two years. There are other types of depression as well that include: postpartum depression, seasonal affect disorder, and psychotic depression. Postpartum depression is more serious than the baby blues. It comes on after the birth of a child due to the fluctuation in hormones, the tiredness, the overload of a new responsibility, and is estimated to affect 10-15% of women who have given birth. Season affect disorder is caused by lack of sunlight typically found in places such as Alaska. The depression usually lifts when spring comes around and there is more natural light. Some experts suggest doing “light therapy” where a person sits in front of a full spectrum light to get the exposure to light that their body needs. Psychotic depression is when a person is depressed and experiences delusions or hallucinations.
No one knows for sure what causes depression. Many believe it is a combination of factors such as genetics, environmental, biological and psychological. Most types of depression tend to run in families. However, people who have no family history of depression may suffer from depression. Scientists are studying human genetics to see if there is a particular gene that turns on depression. MRI’s have shown that the brains of people who have depression look different in the areas involved with sleeping, thinking, and appetite. Environmental factors which cause depression can be a loss of a loved one, a loss of a job, some sort of trauma, or other such stressful and difficult situations that take an emotional toll. Depression can be caused by other long term conditions such as living with chronic pain. However, there may also be no specific trigger for a person’s depression.
According to the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance about 14.8 million Americans suffer from major depressive disorder in any given year. The median age of the onset of the depression is around 32 years old. Depression is 70% more likely to happen to a woman than a man. About one in 33 children and one in eight adolescents have been diagnosed with clinical depression in a year. People who suffer from depression are four times more likely to suffer from a heart attack than those who do not. Depression is often found alongside other chronic illnesses. For instance 50-75% of people who have an eating disorder such as bulimia or anorexia also have depression. 50% of people who have Parkinson’s disease also have depression. 25% of people who have cancer also have depression. Major depressive disorder is the leading cause of disability in the United States in the age ranges of 15 to 44 according to the World Health Organization. Depression costs businesses in the United States $70 billion in terms of medical expenditures, loss of productivity, and other costs. Lost days of work cost approximately $12 billion each year in the United States. If left unchecked major depression can lead to suicide. The traditional treatment for depression is a combination of psychotherapy and medication. Beyond psychotherapy there are support groups which people can attend so they know they are not alone. Medications include antidepressants. There are many antidepressants on the market today. Some of the more common ones are: Prozac, Zoloft, Lexapro, Paxil, Cymbalta, and Effexor. These drugs are all toxic and they call come with side effects. Some of the side effects of Lexapro include: drowsiness, dizziness, insomnia, low sex drive, impotence, inability to have an orgasm, a dry mouth, upset stomach, heartburn, constipation, weight changes, headache, seizure, vomiting, hallucinations, and more. An issue that happens quite often is that people feel like they are doing better so they stop taking the medications or they don’t like the side effects so they stop taking their medications.
There are other alternative and complementary modalities of healthcare that can be helpful in treating depression.
Diet and exercise: it is important to get the body moving on a daily basis. 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise helps promote production of endorphins which are the “feel good” hormones. This doesn’t have to be a 5 mile run, it can be whatever it is that you enjoy that gets you to move. It can be riding your bike, taking a brisk walk, a hike in nature, or swimming. Studies suggest that exercise is as effective as taking antidepressants if done on a regular consistent basis. Exercise can also help to improve your immune system and builds self esteem. Many people who are depressed are also dehydrated. It is important to drink at least 8 ounces or more per day of clean water for hydration. Diet is an effective tool for combating depression as well. Eat clean proteins, fruits, grains and vegetables and stay away from the sugar and processed foods.
Homeopathy: is an energetic medicine founded by Samuel Hahnemann over 200 years ago. He found that a substance which is highly diluted will stop the symptoms which are caused by the substance in its original form. For example, Ipecac will make a person vomit, but when given in a highly diluted form it will stop vomiting. Homeopathy treats the person as a whole, mental, emotional, and physical. An initial consult usually lasts an hour to 2 hour to understand the person, their symptoms and who they are in the world. It is only then that a practitioner can find the best matching remedy. Follow ups are necessary every 3-4 weeks to see if the potency needs to be adjusted or changed. There are many different remedies that will help a person with depression depending on what their symptoms are, such as Ignatia, Aurum Metalicum, Pulsatilla, and Sepia. Homeopathy is not a quick fix and takes time to find the matching remedy.
Acupuncture: is a form of Chinese medicine that has been around for over 2,000. The Chinese believe that stuck Qi is the cause of illness. In acupuncture, small needles are gently placed at key places along the meridians to unblock the Qi and let the energy flow. This flowing energy allows the body to naturally heal itself. They sometimes advise the use of Chinese herbs in addition to the needles. Many visits are needed to see relief from depression. Each visit may cost $65 or more. However, there are many small community acupuncture places that offer acupuncture on a sliding scale to make it more affordable.
Acupressure: is the same idea as acupuncture but pressure from the fingers is used instead of needles. There are acupressure practitioners that can do this for you or you can watch videos on YouTube to teach you. This would also need to be done on a regular basis for a long period of time to see results.
Cranial sacral therapy: is a form of gentle manipulation of the cranial bones while the patient is in lying down. By moving the bones, they help the nervous system by releasing bone and membrane restrictions, thus allowing the spinal fluid to move freely. Certain key bones are moved, with compression and decompression. The typical treatment lasts an hour and many visits are necessary to see improvement.
Reiki: is a Japanese healing technique where the practitioner’s hands float above the client transmitting energy. This energy activates the person’s natural healing processes and allows the client’s body to restore its well being on all levels. The client usually lies down on a massage table and the session takes about one hour. Some people relax completely and fall asleep. Sessions usually cost $65 or more and many sessions are needed to see long term improvement.
Yoga and meditation: yoga combines postures, breathing, and meditation. Yoga can be made simple for beginners or more challenging for the more advanced practitioner. Yoga helps to reduce the body’s exaggerated response to stress. It calms the whole nervous system through the specific postures and the breathing. In one study where women went to two 90 minutes classes of yoga for three months they noted a 50% improvement in their depression. Yoga can help relieve stress, anxiety, and improve overall quality of life with continued practice. There are many studios and gyms that offer yoga. There are many videos on YouTube to help guide people through a meditation. There are studies that show meditation and mindfulness practices can help improve one’s mood. People who were taught mindfulness in addition to their traditional therapy were less likely to relapse to their depressive state than those who just received traditional therapy.
These are just some of the alternative and complementary treatments for depression. They all take time out of your already busy schedule and time off of work. They take consistency and commitment to see results. They are typically not covered by traditional health care insurance. Since everyone is unique, what works for one person may not work for another.
What if there was a natural phenomenon that not only would make you happier but would improve all areas of your life? There is such a thing and it is called the Trivedi Effect®. The Trivedi Effect® was founded by Mahendra Kumar Trivedi. He was born with the gift of being able to connect people to the God of their understanding. The Trivedi Effect® alters the very atom of all living and non living materials. People from all walks of life from all around the world have reported such benefits as: no more chronic pains, financial prosperity, better sex, greater intuition, glowing skin, more energy, ability to focus, improved memory, no more fear from the future, better relationships, and so much more.
Mr. Trivedi was an engineer back in India. He has a very analytical and problem solving mind so he set forth to prove the Trivedi Effect®. To date there are over 4,000 scientific studies done on agriculture/organic food, viruses, genetics, bacteria, cancer, pharmaceuticals, and nutraceuticals. These studies have been published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals. In one study, Mr. Trivedi did a biofield treatment on brain cancer cells. After the Energy Transmission they found that the cancer cells died where as the healthy cells proliferated. The doctor conducting the experiment called the Trivedi Effect® the “holy grail” of cancer treatment due to its selective nature. Traditional treatment of chemotherapy and radiation kill all cells whether they are good or bad. In other studies done on the viral loads of Hepatitis C, they found that after a biofield treatment, the infected plasma cells showed the viral load was greatly reduced by 67% when compared to the control group. Mr. Trivedi and a group of participants from the Healers Mastery Program are currently conducting more scientific experiments in India. These and other scientific studies can be found at Trivedi Science™ .
There are many testimonies from people all around the world who have experienced the Trivedi Effect® for themselves. Here are a few:
Karin E. writes: “When I first started about five months ago, I prayed each time for many things: more loving relationships, more internal joy, clearer purpose, and help with the sale of my building, for example. Almost everything seems to be looking up for me. I’m calm, more patient, and my whole life seems to be gravitating towards something better and better.”
Cheryl C. reports: “I’ve been thinking about how much I’ve grown in the last few months since the Healers Mastery Program. Since the March retreat I had been going through some big transformations in my health and emotions- a lot of intense, uncomfortable emotions- and a virus that lasted about 2 months. When you told us the viruses stored inside our bodies may come up to be released, that resonated with me. Since then, things have been getting better and better, plateauing and then improving. I was reading my journal from May and comparing it to now (September). I’m more positive. Things are not bothering me so much. I find that I need less sleep and don’t feel so groggy. I’m a person who has had a lot of emotional trauma in my life. I’m very grateful to you for your help in coming home to my Divine. It’s the greatest gift you could ever give anyone. Thank you so much.”
Elize R. states: “Thank you, Mr. Trivedi, for your Energy Transmission and for the pleasure of being able to see and hear you. The vibrational shift is amazingly powerful and peaceful. So many negative tendencies fall away. It is truly Divine. When you talked about the Buddha, I could feel the transmission of surrender to the Divine.”
There is a common theme among people who receive the Trivedi Effect® of a more loving connection to everyone and everything around them. People start to feel happier and lighter and as they do, the people around them start to become more attracted to them. People will come up to you and talk to you out of the blue. There are many more testimonies at Trivedi Testimonials . There is also the Ripple Effect that happens with the Trivedi Effect®. Many people notice that when they receive the Energy Transmissions that the people around them benefit as well. For example, one mother reported that her daughter, who had been trying to get pregnant to no avail, suddenly became pregnant. Another couple noticed that their fruit trees that had never been big producers started to produce the most beautiful bountiful crop of fruits they had ever experienced.
There are many different programs in which you can experience the Trivedi Effect®. They can be found at Trivedi Master Wellness™ . The more of this energy you receive the more of a transformation you will notice in you and your life. There are three other Trivedi Masters™ besides Mr. Trivedi including: Alice Branton, Dahryn Trivedi, and Gopal Nayak. They are all very powerful conduits of the Trivedi Effect®. The Monthly Enhancement Program (MEP) includes a webcast hosted by Alice Branton and Mr. Trivedi that ends with an Energy Transmission from both of them. The webcasts are full of information to propel your spiritual growth. In fact, Mr. Trivedi is able to tap into what your spirit most needs to hear and speak to that subject. He never prepares his speeches and yet everyone feels as if he is speaking directly to them. If at first you are not able to understand Mr. Trivedi due to his accent, keep listening because his voice has healing properties. Also, the more you listen to him the more you will be able to understand him. These truly are opportunities to catapult your growth to the next level.
